Preventing the spread of the COVID-19 virus among members of the community of the University of Physical Education and Sport

from March 11, 2020 

 

on:

preventing the spread of the COVID-19 virus among members of the community of the University of Physical Education and Sport .

  

On the basis of the Act of March 2, 2020 on special solutions related to the prevention, counteracting, and eradication of COVID-19, other infectious diseases and crisis situations caused by them (Journal of Laws 2020, item 374, as amended), in conjunction with art. 11 sec. 2 of the Statute of Gdansk University Physical Education and Sport of June 19, 2019 (consolidated text announced by the resolution of the GUPES Senate No. 70 of September 25, 2019)

 

the following is ordered:

 

Regulations are introduced to prevent and counteract the spread of the COVID-19 virus, hereinafter referred to as “coronavirus”, among members of the GUPES community.

§ 1

  1. All conferences and events organized by GUPES are cancelled.
  2. Foreign business trips and participation in national and international conferences of GUPES employees, PhD students and students are suspended.
  3. Visits of foreign guests are at the University are suspended.
  4. The accommodation of new persons in the GUPES Students’ House is suspended, as well as a ban on visits by external guests is introduced.
  5. The use of the GUPES Main Library and the reading room is suspended.

§ 2

  1. All classes are canceled, in particular lectures and tutorials for students, doctoral students and participants in postgraduate studies and other forms of education.
  2. The university will make efforts to provide materials for classes in an electronic form.

§ 3

  1. All employees are obliged to limit direct contacts at work to a minimum.
  2. To ensure communication, the use e-mail correspondence and telephone contacts is recommended.

§ 4

  1. To counteract coronavirus, the employer may instruct an employee to perform work specified in the contract, for a fixed period, outside the normal place, hereinafter referred to as “off-site work”.
  2. The instruction may be issued in particular in the case of:

                      a)      the employee’s prior visit to the regions of coronavirus occurrence, in this case the employee’s return from foreign trip;

                      b)      deterioration of the employee’s state of health, characteristic of symptoms of coronavirus infection;

                      c)      suspected coronavirus infection of the employee as a result of his/her with a sick person or a person suspected of coronavirus infection;

                      d)      and in other cases specified in the announcements of the Chief Sanitary Inspector.

  1. The employee is obliged immediately to inform the employer of suspected coronavirus-related illness.
  2. The information referred to in sec. 3 shall be passed immediately to the competent head of the unit by e-mail or by phone, and by e-mail to the Human Resources and Payroll Department at: kadry@awf.gda.pl.
  3. The head of the organizational unit makes a decision to instruct the employee to work off-site and agrees with the employee as to the scope and duration of off-site work. A single period of off-site work cannot exceed 14 calendar days.
  4. The head of the organizational unit is obliged to:

                      a)      daily read of current announcements of the Chief Sanitary Inspector and GUPES announcements regarding coronavirus;

                      b)      maintain contact with an employee performing off-site work and supervise the effects of this work;

                      c)      report to the employer about the situation in his/her unit in relation to the effects of the coronavirus threat.

  1. The obligation to inform about suspected coronavirus infection also applies to PhD students and students who are required immediately to pass on information in this regard:

              a)      at the e-mail address: dziekan@awf.gda.pl  in the case of undergraduate and graduate students,

              b)      at the e-mail address: szkola.doktorska@awf.gda.pl - in the case of doctoral students.

§ 5

Individual decisions regarding exemptions from the restrictions specified in §1 are taken by the Rector.

§ 6

The University will make every effort to enable students, doctoral students and participants in post-graduate courses and other forms of education to implement the study program and to pass the classes canceled due to the coronavirus threat on other dates.

§ 7

  1. The directive becomes effective on the day of issue.
  2. The directive is valid until April 1, 2020.
